Traveled through Saxon Land to Biertan castle & church today with Patrick and Christalle

Today I drove to Biertan (Birthälm), with my new friends and neighbors, Patrick and Christalle from Cyprus and had lunch and walked around the Biertan fortified castle & church; unfortunately the church & castle were closed today because of another religious holiday! Ugh! The lunch was great I had Romanian Sarmale (cabbage leaves rolled around minced pork, served with sour cream and polenta- foarte buna!). We ate in a "medieval" style restaurant. Tomorrow we will all travel together to Marginimea Sibiului and explore the Romanian villages and go to Poiana Sibiului which is famous for its coloful hand painted eggs with cool geometric designs.

Tom

Drum Bun essentially means good travels (journey) in Romanian. You see this on the exit sign from most villages.
